Noah Read

Noah Read (He/Him), Senior, is the Editor-In-Chief of The Riptide. After serving as a Web-Editor, Business Editor, Layout Editor, and social media manager, he is incredibly excited to turn the page into this new position. Since transferring to Vashon Island High School from his local district, he strives for the strong love and community engagement that The Riptide brings to Vashon Island. For as long as he can remember, he has always had a passion for writing articles and newsletters. In elementary school, he was in charge of writing a section of the school's monthly newsletter, where he shared his perspective with students and families across the school district. Fast-forward to a couple years later, he started writing for his middle school’s official newspaper, and was thrilled to reveal his creativity both through writing and photography.

Although Read isn’t a frequent writer, he actively improves operations behind the scenes. From ensuring our content is accessible to readers nationwide and building meaningful connections with local businesses, to managing operations and supporting student writers, he is a crucial part of the Riptide community. For the 2027/27 season, Read is looking forward to building his relationship with both new and returning writers, and is excited to continue working with The Riptide for another year.
