Favorite Holiday Movies

There are lots of movies out there, and some are most enjoyed during certain seasons. There is a movie for almost every season, but this holiday season, students at Vashon High School are enjoying movies to get in the holiday spirit.

“My favorite holiday is Christmas, the movie I like to watch during that time is How The Grinch Stole Christmas and I like to watch it with my mom,” Sophomore Iylaf Almustafa said.

A lot of students prefer to watch movies with their parents or friends because it can be a bonding experience.

“I like to watch Home Alone during Christmas time, and the person I like to watch that movie with is my mom,” Freshman Eli Berman said.

“My favorite holiday is Christmas, and I love watching Home Alone with my parents,” Junior Anahi Nunez Hernandez said.

Watching movies with family and friends during Christmas time is really fun, especially with a nice cup of hot chocolate next to you.

“I love watching Home Alone when it’s finally Christmas season,” Junior Anahi Nunez Hernandez said.

“Home alone or Christmas Family Vacation are my favorite movies to watch during Christmas time,” Senior Sailor Frith said.

Everyone has a vision of their perfect setting while watching their Christmas movie favorites. “I want it to be snowing, candles everywhere, and Christmas pajamas while watching my movie,” Frith said.

Students like to watch specific movies during the holiday season to celebrate these dark days.

“I want it to be snowing, a cup of hot cocoa, with a warm blanket on a couch, plus some cats,” Berman said.

During Christmas time, hot cocoa is a really popular drink due to the very cold weather.

Some students also have particular parts of holiday movies they enjoy.

“I really like the part where the grinch is stealing stuff, like the stockings and presents,” Almustafa said.

Presents are really fun to open, especially when you are with your friends and family.              “My favorite part of Home Alone is when his brother's tarantula gets out of its cage,” Junior Hernandez said.

Home Alone is one of the top recommended Christmas movies of all time, but for very good reason.

“For Home Alone, my favorite part is when the robbers fall into the feathers and the tarantula and with that, Kevin cooked,” Frith said.

Even though people can watch those movies anytime they want, it always hits differently when they are watching it during the season that it takes place, because even though everyone has a preference. But that does not mean people's ideas can’t be similar, either with a lot of people loving Home Alone or How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
