Winter is coming and the students at VHS are planning fun activities to do. Many are traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
“I might be going to Oregon to visit colleges with my parents,” Senior Abby Furr said.
Looking for colleges can be a great idea during break, so students can start planning their next steps after high school. Another winter break activity VHS students are doing is travelling to visit their relatives.
“I’m going to Sandpoint Idaho to see my grandparents with my parents and my sister,” Sophomore Mason Hanes said.
Regardless of the destination, being with family during the holiday season is a fun experience for most students.
“I'm going to California to visit my step mom’s family,” Freshman Willa Lee said.
Break gives families and friends lots of time to travel to exotic places. For this reason, many students are visiting their families for Christmas over break.
“I'm so excited to go to New Jersey to see my grandparents,” Freshman Gabriel Magdasy said.
There are many different feelings that come as winter break arrives, and those feelings can vary.
Countless students are excited and happy to get out of school for a few weeks and do whatever they want during that time, while others might be nervous for an upcoming trip they don’t want to go on.
“I'm planning on Skiing and probably hanging out with friends,” Senior Sam Moreland said.
Skiing is a common activity to do with family and friends when living in the PNW.
“I'm going to a cabin in the mountains to go skiing with Sophia Cagle,” Sophomore Maddie Middling said.
Students Moreland and Middling have similar plans for winter break. Many students find skiing as a fun activity for winter break with their family and friends.
Everyone has a dream vacation they would like to go on. Climates and activities can impact your preference on where to go. There are many other things that affect your decision as well.
“I wanna go to Greece because it's really pretty and warm plus I've always wanted to go there,” Junior Anahi Nunez Hernandez said.
Beautiful scenery can be fun and enjoyable during a vacation.
“I would go to Greece for the beaches,” Said Junior Dziga Legry.
Hot climates and their activities are often desirable because it isn’t something we commonly experience with Washington’s winters. Swimming and lounging on the beach can be fun to experience on break, for it’s something students don’t have at home. This being said, cold climates can also be just as desirable when it comes to winter activities. Skiing and sledding can be fun during the winter season.
“I would go to Alaska because it's really snowy and I like skiing,”Middling said.
Winter break is a fun time for everyone to get out of school and visit family and friends or do activities they enjoy. Break is especially nice when you don’t have to worry about the stress of school work and can just relax.
