Ava Coombs

Ava Coombs (she/her), Senior, is a Staff Reporter for The Riptide, and has been since the beginning of the 2025 school year. Coombs has attended Vashon High School for all four years of her high school career and has been in the Vashon school district itself since fourth grade. It is her first time writing for a newspaper this school year and it has been an enjoyable experience so far. She loves to spend her free time reading and drawing. 

Coombs particularly enjoys writing Arts and Entertainment articles for The Riptide and hopes that they can be a helpful source of ideas and inspiration for those who read them. She’s looking to improve her interviewing skills and hopes she brings helpful and fun articles to the newspaper.
