Cash Requa

Cash Requa, sophomore, is a reporter for The Riptide. Requa has been going to Vashon schools since the 6th grade. He is a firm believer in the freedom of speech and the freedom of the press. He believes that they are critical to keep those in power accountable for their actions. 

As a young boy, Requa heard stories about Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward breaking the Watergate scandal. He was amazed that two ordinary people, with no power other than their typewriters, could take down the president of the United States himself. He is captivated by the beauty of what journalism can accomplish, and works to inform and inspire the public with his writing.
