Valentine's Day is around the corner and people have all sorts of different plans for it. Valentine’s day is a holiday where people often give each other chocolates and flowers, while galentine’s day is mostly about hanging out with your friends.

Valentine's day originated as a Christian feast day honoring a martyr named Valentine, and through later folk traditions, it has also become a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of romance and love in many regions around the world.

For many, Valentine’s Day might be better with a secret, or not-so-secret admirer. It can be an exciting holiday because your secret admirer may be revealed to you, whether you are waiting for someone to ask you to be their valentine, or you plan on confessing your love. On the other hand, Valentine's Day might also remind you to get out there, if you’re searching for some sort of romantic relationship.

Celebrating Valentine’s day is cute because it’s celebrating love and joy. It’s great that people celebrate Valentine’s if they’re in a relationship, but I think you do not need a valentine just to celebrate the holiday.

Galentine’s day is an unofficial knock-off of Valentine’s Day, and it’s for people who either don’t want to have a valentine or be one, or they want to spend the day with their friends. Girls might celebrate Valentine’s day because it makes the community better, knowing everyone is looking out for each other, especially when some may feel a little lonely on Valentine’s day. I feel Galentine’s day specifically honors the power of female friendship. You don’t need to have a valentine or be in any kind of relationship for galentine’s day, so I think it’s a more inclusive holiday for all the single girls out there who still want to celebrate.

Celebrating Valentine’s Day might be fun for me, but I feel like it could be a little awkward. Also some people have social anxiety, so they may feel more stressed about it. Not only that, Valentine’s Day is a little cheesy, because I see so many people giving each other chocolates and holding hands.. Not only is Valentine’s day awkward, it’s also only one day, and I’m not sure if I would say it’s worth it. Some people don’t even celebrate Valentine’s Day at all due to personal, cultural, and religious beliefs.

Anyone can have their own opinion about Valentine’s Day, but I will definitely be celebrating galentines day this year, so I can hang out with my friends without any stress. I personally think celebrating galentine’s day is better, because it’s a way all my friends get together to celebrate and have a good time.
